Video game reviews: World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft: – I remember well, when I first came into the “World of Warcraft” as huge as it was, and also very exciting to explore, discover, and develop new skills, hence – becoming very addictive.

Slowly but surely Blizzard’s World of Warcraft was staring to take over. And once I managed to play a Night Elf to the highest level, i was left to find that this was only the begining of the game. Raid Dungeons and Epic Dragon-Slaying Quests soon followed. When I heard about this end-game play I was eager to get into a raiding guild and work on my personal quest to obtain the most desireable armor.

However, this never happened – At the time I was needed to be doing things in the “real life” much more. Much more important Continue Reading

Game reviews: Football Manager 2007

Having been a fan of the series for some time, dating back to the early days of Championship Manager 2 which was released some 10 years ago now, every time a new edition is released – I am quick to get out there and bag myself a copy of what I would consider to be the best football management game that there is available. The video game industry recognizes the popularity of video games amongst the ‘older’ population and many of the games they produce should not be played by children at all. They contain mature themes and visuals, heavy on guns, horrific violence and Continue Reading

Gaming in 2008: The year ahead for Nintendo – Part 1

With Nintendo doing very well in the video game market in both the console and hand-held, it is a question of whether the momentum can be kept up or will it slow down a lot. It is always a question that happens each and every year in gaming. When someone is dominating the market, the question that comes to mind is what will the company do next to keep up a strong momentum. There is one particular game that is out for the Wii and been the most anticipated game and one that could become Nintendo’s most profitable game.

SSBB: That’s right, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. It has online capabilities and a variety of characters. New ones come into play like Sonic, Solid Snake, Pit, Meta Knight, and many other new comers into it. The familiar ones being Mario, Continue Reading
