Online video game reviews: Darkside Arklight 2 – Part 2

Your people have been mining the asteroid belt in your solar system peacefully for 200 years – until the Krainian Empire began to invade. Now you must stop them before they destroy your mining colony. As the pilot of the Ark-Light X-52 it is your job to destroy the invading ships of the Krainian Empire while protecting the colonies.

If you’re a die-hard Asteroids player from way back in those golden days of Atari, you are going to love DarkSide ArkLight2. A basic rule in gaming is that you can never go wrong with a good shoot-em-up and in Arklight2, Pi Eye Games delivers up a stellar example of the genre.

The graphics are astounding in 3D, with rich with detail and color. There are shadows as chunks of rock pass over, and they look as hard as they feel when Continue Reading

Downloadable game review: Bejeweled Twist, by Popcap

Bejeweled has always been a treasure to play; pun intended. As an advanced classic Bejeweled and Bejeweled 2 player, I was equally attracted to Bejeweled Twist; at first. I began the game knowing I would face some unique challenges. With many of the elements of the old game and the intervention of the new ideas created a work of art that I am sure a lot of people will take to. I am however going to be loyal to Bejeweled 2 as I feel it was the best version out of all of the Bejeweled creations all together.

To begin with, the music as always was amazing. I have often stopped to verbally comment positively to my family the ear candy Bejeweled’s music always is to me. Very fitting with the futuristic theme of the game, it has always made me feel like I was traveling Continue Reading

Downloadable Game Review: Virtual Farm by Alawar Entertainment – Part 2

The Sims, Civilization, Rollercoaster Typhoon, virtual reality games are taking over the gamming industry. I myself was a little skeptical about trying a game called Virtual Farm by Alawar Entertainment, once I downloaded the game I was immediately pulled into the great colorful graphics. When I first started the game, I loved how the tutorial teaches you about the tools of the trade. The game isn’t boring at all; I loved the excitement of fulfilling your contracts and being on a time schedule.

The graphics to the game are really colorful and pull you in immediately. I loved the great characters that the game has, the looks and charm of the game made me want to pursue to help the character in building his business. I also enjoyed the fact that the game has a story behind Continue Reading

Video game reviews: Fable (Xbox)

Fable is a wonderful game. Sadly, I have not played Fable: The Lost Chapters. But Fable I have beaten many times. Okay, maybe I don’t like the idea of marrying women on the game when I am a woman in real life. I got over that. I don’t HAVE to marry anyone.

Now, Fable is an all-adventure game. You start off as a kid trying to earn enough money to get your sister, Theresa, a birthday present. You can go around town, Oakvale, doing good deeds. Or, of course, you could chose not to do good deeds. You can always do bad deeds and get ‘evil’ points and a little bit of gold.

After you get the present, a raid by bandits is placed upon Oakvale and your father is killed (on the game) but your sister and mother escapes as well as you. Of course, no one knows Continue Reading
